Hello Beny My dog is diagnosedwith bone cancer she is a greyhound. I am just about to agree to amputation. What do I need to think about from your experience ?
Our choice was to relieve him from pain. We also know the leg will break as the cancer progresses. It was a matter of more time with him and no pain. Amputation is hard . Harder on you than the dog. We questioned our decision many times during the few weeks after the amputation. But at 3 weeks he was pain free and getting around. We knew we made right choice.
Look into k9 immunity plus. It is a supplement geared to assisting immunity to fight the cancer it also helps when they are having chemo. Even if you do not choose chemo, do the supplement.
Our choice was hard in that he was not showing the amount of pain he was in, just favoring his leg, not limping yet. But the earlier you get to it the better. They are thinking he is doing so well since we caught it early on.
It will be hard.. But you need to make the choice for you and your dog. What ever you choose it is the right choice. We chose amputation and chemo. Chemo is hard also most dogs have no problem with it, but a few do react. I have seen some do amputation and just the k9 supplement and live for quite awhile.

I hope you don’t get tired of me telling you how handsome you are Zeus! You’ll be hearing it a lot from me!
You are quite content and very relaxed soaking up some sunrays! Being in nature is so healing.
Okay Handsome, keep on keepin’ on sweet boy! You’re doing great! And keep these great pictures coming!
Hugs!
