And Zeus is not giving up! If he gave it any thought, he is just as happy without another chemo session. So, you and he should live life to the fullest, whether it is 3 months, or 6 or something else, because at the end of the day, we just do not know. And Zeus just wants to walk and play and do other doggie things.

Have you looked into ‘AVE’ as a supplement? Here’s a link if you would like to look into it. http://www.drdavidwilliams.com/avemar-cancer/ We were able to find it on Amazon. It is a human supplement but has also had great affects on canines as well. We are going through a bone cancer journey right now with our newfoundland so I understand how this feels.

Listen, just because it has been spread to his lungs. Zeus doesn’t doesn’t know it spread. Love on him and spoil him rotten. Sassy’s Osteoscaroma spread between her 4th & 5th chemo. She survived 7 3/4 more months. We did metronomic chemo. Which is a low dose chemo pill every day along with NAID.

Vets give stats and that is all the 3 months at the most was he could blow those out of the water

God that sucks. So sorry. Like said above – Zeus will live it up and who knows. He could go for much longer.

Please don’t give up and try Artemisinin. My girl had osteosarcoma with only amputation and no chemo or radiation and I gave her that everyday with no mets. Unfortunately, 6 mos. later she got lymphoma in her intestines which took her away from us.

Theres a post on treatment and recovery page by Chyncha I believe whose dogs lung mets have been shrinking. Check it out I know she’s also using tumeric. Zeus isn’t giving up either. As Michelle says the vet gives averages. Take each day and live in the here and now just like Zues is doing. Don’t let cancer rob you of your today’s for fear of tomorrow’s. Please keep us posted on your beautiful boy! We’ll all be sending healing thoughts and prayers.

NEver give up!!! Zeus has no clue he has mets …. and our hero Jerry lived long after mets were discovered. I am kind of surprised (although this is your decision of course) to discontinue chemo after finding the mets. We kept on after we had mets and they did shrink a little.

But I am so sorry for your news today. But keep loving Zeus, giving him positive energy and lots of cuddles!

    Hugs,

Basically, I just want to “ditto” everyone else because they are exactly right!

NOTHING has changed in Zeus’s world!! Many of us have been on the site long enough to kmow statistics don’t mean much around here at all! And they sure don’t mean squat to Zeus!

THE most important lesson on this joirney, especially now, is to let NOTHING rob you of your time together. Love in the moment, stay in the present. Zeus is with you now and that is all that matters!

My Happy Hannah and I got great extended time after her met was discovered and it was the size of a baseball!!

Check out Metronomics, or Palladia, etc. While I didn’t pursue anything else for Happy Hannah once the met was discovered, others have and felt good about their decisions. I did some nutritional stuff and we just got on with lpving and spoiling and living life to the fullest!!

ALWAYS remember, Zeus does not have a timeframe stamped on his butt and no vet can tell him he does!!

    Sending love and hugs!

Remember in “dog time” 3 to 6 months is equivalent to around 2 years in human time. One thing I learned here in the Tripawds community is to live one day at a time, and that every dog reacts differently. Holistic treatments and good nutrition are bringing wonderful results. Soon these statistics will show better survival times thanks to many dedicated owners that decided that their dogs deserved fighting for. Spoil him rotten! he deserves it.

Ditto and ditto. Prognosis schmognosis. I know it’s difficult to hear that mets are there, and I’m so sorry, I remember that feeling well and it hurts something awful. But we’re here to remind you that Zeus doesn’t care what the x-rays said, he just wants to keep on having fun with his favorite peeps.

Many many dogs outlive the prognosis, even with mets. Don’t give up and know that you have lots of support here. You may also want to consult with Dr. Charles Loops, a pawesome holistic homeopathic vet in North Carolina who many Tripawds members have had great success with. See:

Give Zeus a big smooch from us. And we send lots of hugs to you. Stay strong.
